Abstract

Facade colour is one of the most important aspects of city life and a major element affecting the general appearance of cities. The colour quality of the sources used in facade lighting plays an important role in the appearance of facade colours. The colours and the arrangements used have slight differences for each building; therefore, every building needs a different lighting design. Therefore, light sources should be chosen in the context of light and surface colour interaction and the changes in the facade colours should be known at the lighting design process. In this study the differences between inherent and perceived colours of the selected colour composition of facade paints illuminated by the various artificial light sources have been determined to be beneficial at the beginning of facade lighting design stage.
