Özet
An existing reinforced concrete (RC) members and/or structures may be damaged by chemical processes due to aggressive environment, excessive loading and poor initial design. Nowadays, lots of effective and simple strengthening methods have been available. These methods are bonding with steel plates or fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets, external prestressing and additional concreting. Generally, the shear and bond failure due to the combined action of shear and flexural moment is relatively brittle in strengthened damaged slender reinforced concrete beams by using steel plate. In this study, providing two and three dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis, the whole load-deflection behavior of the beams have been analyzed and the main results of the numerical analyses are compared with the experimental results of RC beams to demonstrate how accurately the two and three dimensional solutions for beams predicts the load carrying capacity. In addition, two dimensional finite element nonlinear analysis steel stress and strain are compared with three dimensional analyses along the steel plate.
