DETERMINATION OF BIODIESEL PLANTS THAT ARE NATIVE TO TURKEY FOR BIODIESEL PRODUCTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF APPROPRIATE PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

It is indicated that reserves of conventional energy sources used in recent years has been decreasing and oil reserves will be exhausted in the near future. Rapidly increasing population and industrialization has led to an increase in world energy consumption and as a result of this, the necessity of taking new and urgent measures in terms of energy has become essential. In addition to efficient and rational use of existing resources, harnessing new and renewable energy resources is gaining rapid significance. Among these sources, biomass has one of the greatest potentials. The most important alternative for biomass-based fuel is production of biodiesel. A model was developed for biodiesel production which takes into account the agricultural specifications of home grown plants, their possible uses and its physical and chemical properties. Finally most viable production specifications based biodiesel production technologies were identified.
