Abstract

It will be shown by the present contribution how various alloys of the laser alloyed steel S 6-5-2 can be hardened and annealed to improve their high temperature strength, their ductility and their annealing resistance. In order to allow pointed statements regarding the hardening capacities of the different alloy, secondary harding effects have been investigated exclusively. The improvement of the properties by the vaccum procedure has been compared to the salt harding process.
