In this paper, types and working principles of optical fiber sensors and advantages of using them are studied. Fiber bragg grating sensors whose characteristic wavelength changes with temperature, stress or pressure, thereby yielding transmission of the sensed information are analyzed. The wavelengths of the Bragg gratings, the spectrum of the transmitted and reflected light in the sensor, the power losses in the system and the changes in bandwidths are calculated by simulations performed on OptiSystem 7.0 software.en
