In this study, it is intended to develop a parametric model to predict wave characteristics as time series for a region. The newly developed parametric wave prediction model uses the equations given by CERC (1984) for the calculation of the wave height and period, hence the equations include wind duration, wind velocity and fetch to calculate the wave parameters. To obtain the time series of wave parameters, some assumptions and trials with these parameters were made and investigated in detail. The results obtained from the model compared to the wave measurements over 8.5 months at the Southwest coast of Black Sea to test the goodness of the model. The model gives very reasonable results for the prediction of wave height, wave period and wave direction.en
