dc.description.abstractThe effect of combined own weight and a prestretching load on stress and displacement distributions around a circular hole in a composite plate-strip subjected to bending is investigated using the three-dimensional linearized theory of elasticity. The corresponding boundary-value problems are solved numerically by the finite-element method. It is found that the own weight of the plate-strip affects these distributions considerably.en
