The specifications of external obstructions, orientations and material features of windows and the transparency ratio (window/wall ratio) are the basic parameters affecting interior daylight availability and energy consumption of artificial lighting. The aims of this paper are to determine interior daylight illuminances considering effective parameters mentioned and to present data beneficial for the prediction of interior daylight availability for external obstructions in Istanbul at the early design stages of buildings and settlements.en
