Özet

Although it has been proven, that the SPDT method, which improves the low penetration disadvantage of PDT, significantly increases the singlet oxygen yield, the number of relevant studies in the literature is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to show the improved singlet oxygen generation using newly synthesized silicon (IV) phthalocyanines containing terminal fluoro, chloro, bromo-phenoxy moiety by sono-photochemical applications. While the calculated phi Delta values were 0.41 for compound 1, 0.39 for compound 2, and 0.29 for compound 3 after photochemical applications, these values increased to 0.77 for compound 1, 0.74 for compound 2, and 0.65 for compound 3 after sono-photochemical applications. The results proved that the contribution of the substituents increased the therapeutic efficacy of silicon (IV) phthalocyanine dichloride (SiPcCl2), and the applied irradiation method also increased the singlet oxygen yield approximately-two times. This article will enrich the literature on increasing singlet oxygen yield.
