Abstract

In this study, gain characteristics of erbium doped fiber amplifiers, EDFAs, which are important elements of optical communications over C and L bands, are examined The factors that effect the gain of an EDFA are given and the differences among some EDFA designs which operate on various wavelengths are determined.
