Abstract

Rail transportation systems are complex structures where mechanical, electrical, electronic, communication, and signaling systems work together. These systems can communicate with each other by means of networks. Signaling system communication can be designed in various ways, but nowadays, it is mostly achieved through communication-based train control. In this study, radio communication over fiber in communication-based train control signaling systems was modeled with the OptiSystem 21.0 simulation software. The study aims to determine the system components to achieve the best possible performance by means of BER analysis of the data transmission model over optical fibers, extending from cabinets in system rooms to antennas inside tunnels.
