Abstract
The plane state of stress in an elastic-plastic rotating annular disk mounted on a rigid circular shaft is studied. The analysis is based on Tresca's yield condition, specifically its associated flow rule and linear strain hardening material behavior. In the present analysis, it is shown that the plastic core adopts three parts, within different forms of the yield condition. The theory developed is illustrated by numerical results.
