Abstract

The elastic-plastic stress distribution of a rotating hyperbolic annular disk mounted on a circular rigid shaft is investigated in this work. The exact solution presented is based on the usual assumptions of plane stress, Tresca's yield condition, its associated flow-rule and linear strain hardening material behaviour. According to the present analysis-the plastic core consists of three parts with different forms of the yield condition. The theory presented is illustrated by numerical results. The results show that the plastic flow and maximum stresses are influenced by the thickness parameter. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
