Abstract

In this study, the main indicators of economic, social and environmental and taking into consideration of the governance and financial factors; a five-dimensional, unique and effective corporate sustainability model has been proposed. With this model, corporate sustainability evaluation of Turkish Banking Industry with a comparison between state owned and private banks in Turkey has been evaluated. On the basis of that multi-dimensional corporate sustainability model, all corporate sustainability reports published in the Turkish Banking Industry between 2009 and 2015 have been examined, and a total of 139 criteria are applied to all reports by utilizing content analysis. Recommendations have been proposed in order to enhance the robustness of the banking in the financial system by comparing corporate sustainability practices of state owned and private banks.
