Özet

Babbit and Caldwell (1948) have given an experimental study for the circular island unconfined aquifer model in steady state flow condition in order to test the validity of Muskat's hypothetical equations for well interference. Later on, Hantush and Jacob (1960) have presented a theoretical study, under steady state conditions of now, for discharging wells located eccentrically in a circular aquifer along whose outer or cylindrical boundary either the drawdown or the flux is zero. Verruijt (1982) has presented the discharge-drawdown equation for the wells eccentrically located in circular island unconfined aquifer model in the steady state flow condition. The main purpose of this paper is to test the validity of these equations through a set of laboratory experiments. In order to test these equation, a sand model was constructed in the laboratory and wells were located eccentrically in the circular island aquifer. This study shows that the analytical equations are valid for the small drawdowns. However, the equation does not represent higher drawdowns in the wells which are eccentrically located in the circular island model under steady-state flow of an unconfined aquifer.
