In various buildings, the muqarnas come in different forms depending on their location. Tabriz city is selected as a case study due to its historical background and historically valuable monuments. The historic bazaar of Tabriz, Kabood Mosque, Bani Hashemi Mosque, and Behnam's House are chosen as case studies. This study aims to classify different species of the muqarnas in terms of form and location. The research shows that the muqarnas patterns have differences and similarities based on their different locations in buildings, resulting in different categories of spaces in terms of form. According to the research results, the muqarnas are classified as interior and exterior patterns which may have circular, rectangular, square, and polygonal forms. The aim of the investigation is the answer to this question: what are the similarities and differences between Muqarnas patterns in Tabriz's historical buildings? This research intends to predict the kind of Muqarnas patterns used in Tabriz and analyze the patterns and their featuresen
