Özet

Floods which cause economic and sociocultural damage to the environment are aimed to be prevented with the help of simulation-based hydraulic analysis software applications. In the projects designed with the help of hydraulic software and simulations, it is possible to ensure flow control in the discharge and transmission of wastewater without damaging the environment and living creatures under optimum economic conditions and prevent flooding, by applying physical structures and equipment that are in accordance with technical specifications and approved by official institutions. For this study a region which is prone to flood frequently in the district of Uskudar, Istanbul; which has the title of most populous city in Europe with a population of over 15 million is selected. Current terrain and existing infrastructure network modeling, determination of precipitation basins, flow calculation, rain and flood simulations were carried out with the help of software's such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Urbano, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis. After the simulations on the existing topology nodes and sections of the existing infrastructure network which are incapable to respond to rain water entering the system from the relevant basin were observed. Also, the total flooded volume and flooded surface area values are detected. Getting these exact result values and parameters were critical to focus on the design project side of the study. As a result of repeated simulation, it has been determined that controlled water flow can be provided by creating a volume that will prevent flooding in particular nodes and sections that are insufficient to meet the flow.
