Society beyond the State. Methodological Individualism and Social Philosophy

Abstract

This work investigates the theory of the spontaneous order and methodological individualism as a paradigm of social philosophy. This paradigm explores the origin and the evolution of society in a way that is essentially different from traditional moral and political philosophy. Indeed it provides an analysis of power that is not based on sovereignty but on individuals and social relations. As a result, it aims to investigate human action in different spheres of society as a common field of enquiry. The perspective adopted in this essay proves the need for a strong interdisciplinary disposition for social philosophy, whose specific task will be to combine different fields of knowledge and research into a common approach to social reality.
