dc.description.abstractThe increasing number of motor vehicles causes urban traffic and parking problems. Therefore, automatic parking systems are needed to assist drivers in parking. These systems ensure efficient use of parking areas and therefore reduce traffic in densely populated areas. New applications developed using the IoT (Internet of Things) play an important role in many areas of our lives. The concept of IoT can be applied in many fields, from simple smart devices to smart cities, agriculture, industry, and health. At this point, the features of LoRa technology are introduced and compared with those of alternative technologies. Furthermore, a smart parking system suitable for open areas, where vacant spaces can be observed on the map, has been developed with two LoRa modules, an antenna, a microcontroller, and a mobile application interface. In the last section, examples of the integrated use of LoRa technology with other smart city technologies are given.en
